2010 – 2011
- “Obscurities” recycling bins were purchased and placed in the commons for batteries, printer cartridges, packaging material, electronics, athletic shoes, and clothes (bin in laudry room).
- Several bottles of Seventh Generation biodegradeable laundry detergent were bought and tested in the Baker laudry room at the beginning of the fall semester.
- $1000 Green Funds went toward funding the “Local Foods Exhibition Dinner” to showcase Baker Servery’s Farm-to-Fork program with Atkinson Farm. The event was also set up to raise awareness about the local foods movement and the Rice Farmer’s Market.

- Baker Environmental Committee created with $500 budget for the year.

1. One recycling bin for every trash can at Baker – make sure they stay there.
2. Get Cabinet involved in Environmental Committee events.
3. Make sure recycling is provided at every Baker event and recyclable cups are used.
Progress:
- Found obscurities bins in Parker Redman Lounge – moved to back of commons – Rose wants them moved out of commons
- 9/7 Meeting with Brad Thacker:
- found out where nice grey recycling bins are stored (basement)
- H&D will make more of an effort to replace moved bins
- work to move vending machines indoors (new wing ice machine room/servery hallway)
- place obscurities bins in servery hall – need to find nice table to place on
